Goldie Hardesia Brown, 51, of the 2500 block of Rock Creek Drive, died May 20, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Brown, a native of Pollocksville, N.C., was a former teacher at MacDonald Manor head start. She was a member of the Rock Church, 640 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, and involved with the GodSquad, Rock Church Bible School, and was a nursery worker.
Survivors include her husband, William Ira Brown; two daughters, Kinyatta Brown and Billitta Jallon Brown, both of Chesapeake; her mother, Christabel Coleman of Pollocksville; two sisters, Doris Finley of Brooklyn, N.Y., LaVern Langley of Raleigh, N.C.; three brothers, Charles Coleman, James Coleman, Norman Coleman, all of New York; her grandmother, Mrs. Beadie Hill of Pollocksville; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Charles Coleman.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday by Sister Betty Forbes at Rock Church. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family can be contacted at 2515 Rock Creek Drive, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 2515 Rock Creek Drive, Chesapeake, Friday at noon for the funeral procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
