Curtis Ben Kight, 77, of the 5000 block of Portsmouth Blvd., died May 21, 1996, in his residence.
Mr. Kight, a native of Riddle, N.C., retired from the Navy Exchange as a special services manager and barber. He formerly ran Deep Creek Barber Shop. He was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Waggoner Kight; a daughter, Sandra K. Godwin of Chesapeake; a son, Curtis Steven Kight of Portsmouth; a sister, Elizabeth Koon of Chesapeake; a brother, Carlton E. Kight of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Janet L. Kight, Jennifer L. Kight and Sara Jeanette Godwin.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Bradford L. Phillips at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to Maryview Wellspring Hospice.
