Catherine Louise Edwards Byrd, 52, formerly of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, May 21, 1996, in a Lumberton, N.C., hospital.
Mrs. Byrd was born in Chesapeake and was the daughter of the late Ralph Jefferson and Chelsia Johnson Edwards.
Survivors include her daughter, Eva Renae Barnes of Lumberton; her two sisters, Dianner Heath and Joyce Darlene Johnson, both of Chesapeake; and her two grandchildren, Catherine Renae Barnes and Bobby Dean Barnes II.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, by Jasper G. Lupton. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at other times at 135 Wilson Drive, Chesapeake.
