Artemesia Towe White, 91, of Route 1, died Wednesday morning, May 22, 1996, in her home.
A native of Perquimans County she was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Towe and Mary Davis Towe. She was the widow of Jacob Lycurgus White Sr. and a member of Hertford United Methodist Church and its Della Shamburger Circle.
Supervisors include two daughters, Mary Pasco Overton of Edenton and Peggy W. Dudley of Hertford; five sons, Jake L. White Jr. and Joe Towe White Sr., both of Hertford, Charles E. White of Suffolk, Frank E. White of Chesapeake; and J. Ralph White of Hampton; two sisters, Margaret Eason of Hampton and Mary Edwards of Hertford; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Swindell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Jon Strother. Burial will follow in Cedar Wood Cemetery. Swindell Funeral Home is in charge.
