Rebecca J. Leonard, 28, of the 2300 block of Enchanted Forest Lane, died May 20, 1996, in her residence.
She was a peer counselor at Endependence Center. She was a native of Philadelphia and a Navy veteran. She was also a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Keane Matthews; mother, Virginia Leonard of Gainesville, Ga.; father, Melvyn J. Leonard of Gainesville, Ga.; two sisters, Sharrie Wiley of San Jose, Calif., Jacquiline Cipollone of Mt. Laurel, N.J.; two brothers, Marc Leonard of Doylestown, Pa., Peter Leonard of Burlington, N.J.; paternal grandmother, Mary Frances Leonard; maternal grandmother, Bonnie Alhand.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, or the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
