Thelma Cassell Braun, 90, died Monday, May 20, 1996, at University Park Nursing Home.
She was born in Rocky Mount, Va., on Nov. 6, 1905, the daughter of Henry Munsey Cassell and Ola McFall. She lived most of her life in Norfolk and Virginia Beach. She was a member of Westover Hills United Methodist Church in Richmond. She was a charter member of Foundry United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach, where she served as secretary for many years. She had many friends at Trinity Lutheran Church in Richmond where she was a member of the Trinity Rascals Group.
She is survived by a sister, Catherine Cassell Scott; nephew, L. Vaden Scott; two grand-nephews, Benjamin Vaden Scott of Richmond and Watson H. Ellett III of Roanoke.; a niece, Bruce C. Lunsford; grand-niece, Caroline P. Ellett.
A memorial service will be held at Foundry United Methodist Church Thursday, May 30, 1996, at 2 p.m. Contributions may be made to Foundry United Methodist Church, Westover Hills United Methodist Church or Trinity Lutheran Church.
