John Calvin Kirkland, 64, died May 23, 1996, at Riverside Conv. Center, Newport News, Va.
A lifelong resident of Boykins, he was the son of the late Robert E. Kirkland Sr. and Pauline Fuller Kirkland. He was a member of Boykins Baptist Church.
Mr. Kirkland is survived by two brothers, Ollie W. ``Mutt'' Kirkland and William R. ``Nuke'' Kirkland, both of Boykins; and a sister, Katherine K. Futrell of Courtland. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert E. Kirkland Jr.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, on Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Benjamin Thomas. The family will receive friends at the residence of O.W. ``Mutt'' Kirkland, East Street, Boykins. Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel, is handling arrangements.
