An 11-year-old boy who was hit by a 1987 Dodge van Wednesday near Providence Elementary School is in satisfactory condition in Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, police said Thursday.
The boy, Andrew Karl Koepcke was skating through a crosswalk about 4:20 p.m. in the 4900 block of Providence Road when he was hit by a van driven by Todd Kenneth Doyle, 48, police said.
Koepcke, of the 4900 block of Cliffony Drive, did not have the cross signal and he was not wearing any protective gear, police spokesman Lou Thurston said. He was pinned underneath the van and dragged about 75 feet. Thurston said no charges are expected to be filed.
