No suspects or additional marijuana plants were found Wednesday afternoon by Nags Head police, Police Chief Charles Cameron said Thursday.
Police, assisted by park rangers and helicopters, earlier that day had found one potted marijuana plant in undeveloped land near Soundside Road south of Jockey's Ridge.
Communications Director Debbie Remaley said a request was made to Dare County Central Communications at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday from a helicopter identifying itself as ``Raid 1,'' which had spotted the plant. Remaley notified Nags Head police.
In a release Thursday, the Dare County Sheriff's Department said the operation was part of a training seminar conducted by the North Carolina Narcotics Enforcement Officers Association and included aerial searches.
Plants were also found Wednesday in Baum Bay in Colington, the announcement said.
