ULA M. WILLIAMS

Ula Medlin Williams, 72, of the 2000 block of Battery Park Road, died May 24, 1996, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.

She was a retired statistician for St. Julians Creek Ammunition Depot. She was a native of Gatesville, N.C., and a member of Asbury Methodist Church, Chesapeake. She was also a member of Women of the Moose, Chapter (NU)966, Portsmouth.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas L. Williams; daughter, Pamela B. Ward of Chesapeake; a sister, Alice H. Paisley of Morgantown, N.C.; three grandchildren, Sherry Lee Ward of Virginia Beach, William D. Ward Jr. of Portsmouth and D. Brian Ward of Chesapeake. She was predeceased by her mother, Eula Edwards Medlin, who was the former owner of Gatesville Hotel, Gatesville, N.C.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Lisa Creech Bledsoe in Gatesville Cemetery, Gatesville. Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, is in charge. The family will receive friends at the residence.
