Phyllis B. Bratton, 62, of the 5200 block of Mile Course Walk, died April 23, 1996, at her residence.
She was born in Kitty Hawk, N.C., and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth L. Baum Sr. and Shirley Brickhouse Baum Coughlin, and her husband, Lt. Cmdr. James E. Bratton.
She is survived by three sons, Elwood L. Chappell Jr., Mark K. Hooper, and Raymond G. Bratton; and two brothers, Nelson O. Baum and Kenneth L. Baum II of Virginia Beach.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Battered Women's Shelter via the YWCA. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
