Marion Goodrich Williams, 74, of the 2800 block of Wesley Road, died Friday, May 24, 1996, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mrs. Williams was born in Surry County, Va., and was the daughter of the late Marable Goodrich. She was a 1938 graduate of Oscar Smith High School and graduated from Norfolk General Hospital's School of Nursing as a registered nurse in 1943. She retired from nursing in 1969 after working at Norfolk General Hospital and private duty nursing. Mrs. Williams was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church in Chesapeake and was a long-standing member of the United Stonewall Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy.
Survivors include her husband, Webster Williams of Chesapeake; her mother and stepfather, Alice and Carlyle Robinson of Norfolk; her son and daughter-in-law, Webster Wayne Williams and Linda of Chesapeake; and sister Jackie Christensen and brother, Ward Goodrich, both of Virginia Beach; and two grandchildren, Susan Hope Williams also of Chesapeake and Rebecca Faye Williams of Charlottesville, Va.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
