Mr. Aubrey L. Miles Sr., 92, died May 23, 1996, in P.G.H. Hospital in Salisbury, Md., due to heart failure.
He was a waterman and seafood dealer. Mr. Miles was a member of Saxis United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was also a member of the American Legion Post (NU)159 in Chincoteague. He was born in Saxis, Va., to the late Aldon Miles and Louise Rhodes Miles.
He is survived by his wife, Elena M. Miles; children, Leilani Smith of Hallwood, Va., an Sherrye Lewis, Laura Lewis and Aubrey Lee Miles Jr., all of Saxis; sister, Lula Mae Justice of Wattsville, Va.; three grandchildren, Ursula Lewis of Saxis, Taira Smith of Hallwood and Lauren Miles of Saxis; brothers, Ralph James Miles of Saxis and Joseph A. Miles of Greenbackville, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Saxis United Methodist Church, Saxis, by the Rev. Robert Cooper. Interment will be in Downing Cemetery, Oak Hall. Donations may be made in his name to the Saxis Volunteer Fire Company, c/o Curtis Miles of Saxis, Va. 23427. Arrangements by Fox Funeral Home, Temperanceville.
