JEAN M. ARMSTRONG

Jean M. Armstrong, of the 1900 block of Shipyard Road, died May 23, 1996, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Mrs. Armstrong, a native of Harlem, N.Y., was a member, deaconess and senior choir member of Union Baptist Missionary Church, Suffolk. She was an active member of the Union Baptist Prayer Meeting and Bible Study.

Survivors include her husband, Roosevelt A. Armstrong Sr.; three daughters, Karen Christian, Loretta Shambley and Pamela McKinney; two sons, Roosevelt A. Armstrong Jr. and Tyrone Armstrong; 12 grandchildren; two aunts, Nellie Cromwell and Minnie Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday by Pastor C.V. Russell Sr. at Union Baptist Missionary Church, Suffolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Monday. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
