LEONARD HOPE ANSELL

Leonard Hope Ansell was husband for 54 years of Frances M. Ansell, father of Carolyn A. Marks, Marjorie A. Zerbian and Charles R. Ansell, and grandfather of Jonathan, Carrie and Laurie Ansell, Susan W. Sunderlin and Paul Wilkinson, Chris and John Marks. Mr. Ansell made the transition at home on Saturday, May 25, 1996.

Hope loved the Lord, his family, community, friends and those who cared with grace for Frances and himself.

A graduate of the College of William and Mary, Hope retired as assistant postmaster from the Virginia Beach Post Office. The Virginia Beach Community Chapel supported his walk and was his spiritual neighborhood. Hope was a member of the Masonic Lodge (NU)274 for 56 years.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by the Rev. Larry E. Shoaf. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today.

As a lifelong gardener, Hope is providing flowers. Friends wishing to share in a gardener's love for annually planting and nurturing new seeds of life can contribute for Hope to the Missionary Fund at Virginia Beach Community Chapel.
