Florence Spivey Crowder, 68, of the 3600 block of Moore Road, died May 26, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mrs. Crowder, a native of Gates County, N.C., was a member of Alexander Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin L. Crowder Sr.; two daughters, Brenda F. Dunn of Portsmouth, Betty McCutcheon of Chesapeake; two stepdaughters, Jean Shaw of Texas, Carol Farmer of Portsmouth; two sons, John C. Forrester and Larry W. Forrester, both of Chesapeake; a stepson, Marvin Crowder Jr. of Chesterfield, Va.; a sister, Myrtle Spivey Taylor of Florida; two brothers, Frank Spivey and Chester Spivey, both of Maryland; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. John Burr at Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. The family suggest memorial contributions to the arthritis foundation.
