Audrey Lee Sykes, 58, formerly of 204 Bosley Ave., died May 26, 1996, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
A native of Portsmouth, N.H., she was the daughter of Viola Sprague Sykes of Weare, N.H., and the late Thomas Holmes Sykes.
She was a member of West End Baptist Church and formerly worked for the Suffolk Police Department as a crossing guard. She also volunteered her time for handicapped children with the Suffolk Recreation Department and the 4-H Club.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her brother, Richard Lee Sykes of Weare; and two nieces and a nephew.
Her remains were cremated. West End Baptist Church will have a memorial service Sunday, June 2, at 12:15 p.m. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Groveland, Mass. Memorial donations may be made to Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23434. R.W. Baker and Company Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
