Eleanor K. Selby, 73, of the 1000 block of Hodges Ferry Road, died May 26, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mrs. Selby, the widow of Russell E. Selby, retired from the Portsmouth Public Schools as a secretary. She was born in La Porte, Ind., and was active in the national, state and local educational office personnel associations. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Larry David Bryant of Houston, Texas, Scott Hunter Selby of Portsmouth; two sisters, Mabel Bradway of Seattle, Wash., Alice Rouch of Winter Park, Fla.; and a grandchild, Kristina Selby of Portsmouth.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. John Bright at Community United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends tonight at 100 Byers Ave., Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community United Methodist Church, Portsmouth, or to the charity of one's choice. Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is in charge.
