A house fire early Monday morning sent one man to the hospital with severe smoke inhalation injuries, fire officials said.
Paul Johanson, 38, of the 3400 block of Melinda Place, was in stable but critical condition at Virginia Beach General Hospital. The fire started about 3:25 a.m. in the rear of Johanson's house. The cause of the fire had not been determined.
