Mrs. Margaret Whitley Freeman, 81, a resident of Windsor, died Tuesday, May 28, 1996, in Norfolk.
Mrs. Freeman was born in Isle of Wight County and was the daughter of the late James Robert and Grace Viola Whitley. She was a member of Central Hill Baptist Church and former member of Smithfield Baptist. She was a retired food service employee at Smithfield High School. She was the widow of Howard R. Freeman.
She is survived by a son, Howard Ralph Freeman of Norfolk; three brothers, Woodrow W. Whitley of Suffolk, David F. Whitley of Sedley, G. Francis Whitley of Windsor; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at Central Hill Baptist Church in Windsor on Saturday at 2 p.m. by Dr. Donald Rhoton and the Rev. John McQuarry. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Donations may be made to Central Hill Baptist Church or to the Windsor Volunteer Rescue Squad.
