Joyce Anzio, 62, died May 28, 1996, in James Pointe Care Center.
She was a Peninsula resident for many years and a native of West Virginia. Joyce was Catholic. She was retired as a registered nurse with Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.
She is survived by her husband, John Anzio; her mother, Rebecca Fordyce of Mannington, W.Va.; two sons, Bert Heck of Chesapeake and Richard Heck of Elizabeth City, N.C.; a daughter, Mary Schaan of Elizabeth City; stepson, Robert Michael Anzio of Newport News; and four stepdaughters, Marie Veranas and Glenda Griffith of Hampton, Anita White of Norfolk and Peggy Springfield of California; six grandchildren, Lauren, Spencer and Hailey Schaan of Elizabeth City, Margaret, Alexander and Andrew Heck of Chesapeake; and nine step-grandchildren, Tommy, Eddie, Dawn, Jessica, Mallory, Alex, Sherry, Rachael and Lauren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Weymouth Funeral Home.
