The City Council took the following action at its meeting Tuesday:
Joint Public Hearing with Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority to consider the proposed Section 108 Loan Guarantee application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Ordinance granting the application of the city to rezone a portion of the River Pointe Development from Residential RM-60-K to Residential RS-75 and Residential RS-60.

Ordinance granting the application of the city for a comprehensive rezoning of portions of the River Park neighborhood from Residential Multi-Family RM-75 to Residential Single-Family RS-75 and Commercial C-1 to Residential Single-Family RS-75. The properties are generally bounded by portions of Detroit Avenue, West Road, Glasgow Street, Douglass Avenue, Florida Avenue and a portion of the western branch of the Elizabeth River.

Resolution authorizing the city manager to submit a Section 108 Loan Application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Standards for maintaining a Holiday Inn franchise have been upgraded nationally, thereby necessitating renovations at the local hotel. Renovations would create 39 new jobs and save 28 jobs which are all geared toward low and moderate income persons.

Resolution approving the issuance by the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority of its rental housing mortgage revenue refunding bonds for and on behalf of Mansards Associates, for the purpose of refinancing the acquisition of a multi-family residential rental facility, known as Mansards Apartments, located in the city of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
This request is made of PRHA because Virginia Beach does not have a housing authority. Neither the full faith and credit nor the moral obligation of either PRHA or the city is at risk.
