Mrs. Velma Hill Compton, 46, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 1996, in Orange Park, Fla.
Mrs. Compton was born in Norfolk and moved to the Jacksonville area three months ago.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Darrell Ray Compton; two daughters, Lori E. and Heather A. Compton, all of the residence: 6710 Collins Road, Apt. 803, Jacksonville, Fla. 32244; two brothers, Preston Hill of Newport News and Douglas Hill of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Violet Coloski of Portsmouth and Vivian Peloquin of Kenosha, Wis.
A memorial service will be held at the Colonial Heights Church of Christ with the Rev. Steve Jones officiating and the Rev. Allen Byers, pastor of Great Bridge Church of Christ, will be assisting. Further information may be obtained through the church office at Colonial Heights Church of Christ, regarding day and time of services. Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, Fla., is in charge of the arrangements.
