Gertrude E. Horner, 86, died May 29, 1996, in a local hospital.
She was the widow of Jack Horner. Mrs. Horner was a native of New Canton, Va. and a member of Norview Baptist Church. She was predeceased by a son, Mike Horner.
She is survived by a daughter, Charolette Lile of Texas; three sons, Jack Horner Jr. of Columbia, N.C., Hugh Horner of Windsor, Va., and David Horner of Norfolk; brother, Jimmy Oslin of Charlottesville, Va.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday by Dr. James Bradshaw in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Burial is in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made to a favorite charity.
