Are you toying with the idea of telling your landlord goodbye, taking the plunge and buying your very own home?
Then set aside a few hours today and check out the American Dream Expo at The Founders Inn and Conference Center at 5641 Indian River Road in Virginia Beach.
The hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Realty firms, builders and mortgage companies will have representatives at the Expo to ask any questions about buying a financing a house.
The event is sponsored by the Tidewater Association of Realtors, an umbrella organization for 200 Hampton Roads real estate firms and 2,800 member agents.
Admission is $5.
Realty firms will be showing homes they have for sale and promoting new home sites. Mortgage bankers will be available for pre-qualifying consumers for loans and will explain the many mortgage options available today.
Those selling their homes will find several exhibits displaying products and services that can help bring top dollar for the properties.
Seminars and workshops will be offered on topics ranging from basic buying and selling to a debate on the flat tax and mortgage interest deductions.
The main seminar - each session lasts an hour - schedule is as follows:

2 p.m. ``How to Apply For a Mortgage,'' Jamie Austria, First National Mortgage Co., Ballroom 4B.
4 p.m. ``Owning and Investing in Real Estate,'' Teresa Brooks, Ballroom 4A.
4 p.m. ``Income Tax Reform/The Flat Tax Debate,'' U.S. Rep. Owen Pickett and Linda Gould, a taxation specialist with the National Association of Realtors, Ballroom 4B.
