Francis Lee White, 56, died Thursday, May 30, 1996, from complications of surgery at St. Mary's Hospital, Richmond.
He was a graduate of Guilford College, Greensboro, N.C. and received his physical therapy certification from Duke University. Prior to a disabling brain stem aneurysm in 1983, he worked as a physical therapist, serving Suffolk, Edenton, Emporia, Norfolk and Leesburg. He also served on the Virginia State Medical Board for Governor Mills Godwin.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ginger L. White and Don Algie of Airlie Beach, Australia; a son, Philip N. White of Ashville, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law, Leslie B. and Valentine C. White of Woodland; and a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret W. Chalkley and Stephen G. Webber of Rockville, Md.
A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m Sunday in Woodland Cemetery by Dianne W. Ledbetter, the Rev. Lemar Wheeler, and George C. Parker. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Home, 1101 Hampton St., Richmond, Va. 23220. Bridgers Funeral Home, Conway, N.C., is in charge of the arrangements.
