Irene D. Stallings, 85, died May 31, 1996.
She was the widower of James Oscar Stallings and a member of Central Congregational Christian Church for 74 years. She retired from Hofheimer's Shoes in Norfolk after 48 years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Elizabeth Chapter (NU)45.
Survivors include her son, James M. Stallings, and his wife, Margaret Stallings, of Pawley's Island, S.C.; a sister, Iva Ferreira of Jackson, Calif.; a granddaughter, Margaret Stallings of Poulsbo, Wash.; a grandson, James Duncan Stallings of Midlothian, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Harwood, Brittany and Jeffrey Stallings.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Holloman-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, gifts are to go to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, Va. 23507.
