Regarding the May 3 Teenspeak section, I was saddened and very disappointed to read the teenagers' comments regarding the pledge of allegiance.
How can they not show respect for their country? If they do not have respect for the symbol of the nation that nurtured them, what do they respect?
As a combat veteran of World War II and Korea, I am very disappointed with our leaders of tomorrow. I guess the youth of today will consider me a relic, but I still get a feeling of pride when my country's flag passes in a parade.
Am I to assume that, among other things, saying the pledge of allegiance in school is no longer politically correct?
