The Election of a President, submitted by Kathy Brady, Driver Elementary School, to help students understand how presidents are elected by following the campaign trail themselves through a variety of hands-on projects - $300.
Bilingual Basics, submitted by Beverly Washington-Williams and Carol Johnson, Southwestern Elementary School, to help Spanish-speaking kindergarten students learn English and English-speaking students learn Spanish through a peer tutoring language project. - $300.
Modulated Meteorological Lasers, submitted by Michael Hill at John F. Kennedy Middle School, to help students learn about light and optics using lasers to spark scientific investigation - $489.
Around the World in 150 Days, submitted by J.B. Varney at Nansemond River High School, to provide world maps and globes for international marketing students - $300.
The Warriors' Den, submitted by Michele Duncan at Nansemond River High School, to add a cash register bar code scanner in the school store so marketing students get real-world retail experience - $313.
