Esther Curlee Foster, 92, of the 100 block of Herrington Lane, died May 31, 1996, in Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Foster, the widow of Andrew R. Foster, was born in Salisbury, N.C. She had lived with her daughter for the past 17 years. She was a member of Stallings Memorial Baptist Church, Salisbury. She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth R. Foster.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris Foster Hodges of Chesapeake; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth W. Foster of St. Robert, Mo.; a son, Raymond Foster and his wife, Millie Foster of Beaverton, Ore.; a sister, Catherine C. Bowers of Salisbury; a brother, Edward L. Curlee of Salisbury; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rowan Memorial Park, Salisbury. Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
