Local police are seeking public assistance in solving these cases:

VIRGINIA BEACH

The Virginia Beach School Credit Union, in the 3500 block of Virginia Beach Blvd., near Malibu Drive, was robbed about 1 p.m., May 21.

A man walked into the credit union and handed the teller a note demanding money. After receiving cash, he ran.

The suspect is described as black, in his late 20s, 6 feet, 3 inches tall, with a thin build and short black hair. He was wearing a light-colored cap, a light-colored, long-sleeve shirt, light blue pants and white tennis shoes.

CHESAPEAKE

Mark Mason was in the 300 block of Outlaw Street in the early morning hours of May 19, when an unknown subject assaulted him. Mason is in a local hospital with serious head injuries Chesapeake police say there were witnesses to the crime.

HAMPTON

On April 19, about 7:30 p.m., a man entered the Crown gas station in the 1600 block of E. Pembroke Ave. and asked the clerk for change. When the clerk opened the cash drawer, the suspect reached across the counter and took money from the register. The robber then fled.

Police believe the same man may be responsible for other robberies at businesses in the area of Mercury Boulevard and Coliseum Drive.
