Jessie Bernice Joyner, 76, of the 1800 block of Speedy Ave., died June 2, 1996, in Chesapeake.
Mrs. Joyner was born in Norfolk and was a member of South Norfolk Baptist Church. She was the widow of Curtis Joyner.
Survivors include a son, Herman A. Tatem of Chesapeake; a sister, Doris Pillott of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, Thomas L. Garrett of Moyock, N.C., and Calvin Ray Garrett of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Riverside Memorial Park by the Rev. Roger Mardis. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today and at the residence at all other times.
