Amanda Davidson Pridgen, 78, of Academy Hill Apartments, died June 1, 1996, in Sentara Leigh Hospital, Norfolk.
A native of Bertie County, N.C., she was a member of Creech Memorial Baptist Church in Ahoskie. She was retired as a machine operator from Ahoskie Manufacturing.
Survivors include a son, Bob Pridgen of Portsmouth; two sisters, Evelyne D. White of Portsmouth and Ruth Archer of Colerain; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Larry Soblotne. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and will assemble there at 1 p.m. Tuesday prior to services.
