Anne H. Newbill, 67, died June 2, 1996, in her residence.
Mrs. Newbill, a native of Winchester, Va., was the widow of Burnley Taylor Newbill. She retired from Portsmouth Public Schools as an English teacher after 31 years of service. She was a member of James River Hunt Club, Republican Women's Clubs, Isle of Wight and Carrollton Women's Clubs, Virginia Horse Show Association, and numerous volunteer organizations.
Survivors include two sons, William H. Newbill, and his wife, Mary Jane, of Richmond, and Lewis T. Newbill of Carrollton; two grandchildren, Blakeley Taylor Newbill and Brandon Federal Newbill; and many devoted friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Macon B. Walton, Vicar of Christ Brandon Parish, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel. A private burial will be at a later date in Dunnsville, Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 97, Smithfield, Va. 23431.
