Charles Hobert Parker Sr., 75, died Sunday, June 2, 1996.
Mr. Parker, following his retirement from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of service, worked as a self-employed carpenter and cabinet maker.
He is survived by his wife, Emily J. Parker; two sons, Charles H. Parker Jr. of Virginia Beach, Jeffrey C. Parker of Portsmouth; a sister, Clara Massie of Kenova, W.Va.; seven brothers, John L. Parker and Ed Parker, both of Ohio, Wilbur Parker of Florida, Bert Parker of Utah, Clinton Parker of Colorado, Clifford Parker of Kentucky, and Donald Ray Parker of Montana; a grandson, Christopher A. Parker of Fairfax; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pleasant Hall Chapel, Kellum Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home by the Rev. Tom Taylor. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
