JULIA F. MILLER

Julia Fountain Miller, 80, died Sunday June 2, 1996, in Sentara Hampton General Hospital.

Born in Gordon, Ga., she had lived in Hampton 50 years where she owned and operated, with her husband, Bob's and Julia's Nursery. During World War II, she served in the Pacific with the Army Nurse Corps, coming afterwards to the Hampton V.A. Medical Center, where she worked as a nurse until retiring in 1965. She was a member of Phoebus United Methodist Church, Hampton, Colonial Chapter (NU)40, Order of Eastern Star, and the Peninsula Horticulture Society.

Survivors include two sons, Richard S. Miller of Hampton and Robert C. Miller of Leesburg, Va.; two sisters, Lucille F. Cunningham of Kingstree, S.C., and Anna F. Collier of Macon, Ga.; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Phoebus United Methodist Church, Hampton. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton. There will be an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton, after which the family will receive friends until 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Phoebus United Methodist Church, 300 E. Mellen St., Hampton, 23663.
