PASQUOTANK SAILS AWAY A WINNER IN TRIAD REGATTA

Sailors for the Pasquotank River Yacht Club won two of the three classes in the first race of the Albemarle Sound Triad Regatta.

Thirty-four boats from the PRYC based in Elizabeth City, the Edenton Yacht Club and the Roanoke Island Yacht Club at Colington competed in two races Saturday. The compiled average of both races determined the winners.

The PRCY's Tony Ruiz sailed Rascal to first in the Spinnaker Class, and clubmate Archer Farmer took the Class A title in Feather. George Kendall of the Roanoke club finished first in Class A in Liberty Call.

Other finishers: Spinnaker Class: 2nd, Ernest Davenport, PRYC, in Wind Fever; 3rd, Pete Hunter, RIYC, in Ninewonwon. Class A: 2nd, Mike Robinson, RIYC, in Hot Flash; 3rd, Shawn Murphy, RIYC, in Sea Bird; Class B: 2nd, Greg Duncan, PRYC, in Free Bird; 3rd, Don Midgett, PRYC, in Slippery When Wet.
