Carlton Wade Spruill, 63, of the 2000 block of Cedar Road, died Tuesday, June 4, 1996, at his residence.
Mr. Spruill was born in Hertford, N.C., and was the son of the late Neil S. and Pauline Dail Spruill. He was predeceased by his son, Carlton Wade Spruill Jr. He was retired from the Ford Motor Company, Norfolk Assembly Plant, after 30 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 919. Mr. Spruill was a member of Great Bridge Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Spruill; his daughter, Rebecca Joann Forbes; his son, Johnny Neil Spruill; two brothers, Wilford Dail Spruill and William Marion Spruill, all of Chesapeake; and two grandchildren, Wesley Paul Forbes and Amy Marie Forbes.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. Randy Wooden. Interment will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
