Clinton Gray Carson, 89, of the 9200 block of Eclipse Drive, died on Monday, June 3, 1996, in Obici Hospital.
He was the son of the late John Wesley and Beulah Adams Carson. He was born June 10, 1906, in Suffolk and was the husband of Laura Rollins Carson. Mr. Carson was a retired insurance salesman with the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company for 50 years. He was also, at the same time, associated with Commercial Insurance Agency. Mr. Carson worked for six years with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Mr. Carson will be remembered for his love of flowers and antique cars. He was a member of Exchange Club and Ruritan Club, active in both, and was a member of the Portsmouth, Chesapeake Life Underwriters Association. Mr. Carson was a lifelong member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Adele Frances Carson of Norfolk; and a host of special friends too numerous to list.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with the Rev. Carl LeMon officiating. The family will receive friends at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church or to the Bennetts Creek Rescue Squad. Altmeyer Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
