Kendall O. Bentley, 75, of the 7600 block of Bondale Ave., died Monday, June 3, 1996, in Norfolk General Hospital.
He was born in Madison, Wis., on June 21, 1920. He was the son of the late Floyd R. and Hazel Edwards Bentley and the husband of Elva M. Thompson Bentley who survives. Mr. Bentley was retired as a stereotyper with Norfolk Newspapers Inc. and member of the Graphic Communications Local Union. He was also a member of Fairmont Park United Methodist Church.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Kearney of Norfolk; three sons, Thomas O. Bentley of Virginia Beach, Vernon A. Bentley of Oakland Park, Fla., and Steven R. Bentley of Norfolk; two sisters, Virginia Williams of Arkansas, Marian Strutt of Wisconsin; a brother, Gordon Bentley of Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Meg Kearney, Russell O. Bentley and Caitlan Rose Bentley, all of Virginia Beach; two aunts, Florence Healy and Alice Larson. Mr. Bentley was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Karen Kearney.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Fairmont Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Baird officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be sent to Fairmont Park United Methodist Church. Altmeyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
