Laura Eva Hunt Broady, formerly of North Holston, Va., died May 31, 1996.
Before moving to Roanoke, she lived in Norfolk for more than 40 years with her husband, Edgar H. Broady, who preceded her in death. She retired from the Norfolk City School System where she had served as librarian in several junior high schools.
She is survived by a niece, Barbara Jean (The Right Reverand Franklin) Turner of Philadelphia; two sisters-in-law, Edith Hunt of Patterson, N.J. and Gloria Wilson of Bristol, Va.; a brother-in-law, Roy Dickerson of Montclair, N.J.; devoted cousins and care-givers, Rev. and Mrs. Ulas N. (Delois) Broady and other members of the Broady Family of Roanoke; loving care-givers, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Johnson of Norfolk; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Fairview Baptist Church, Glade Spring, Va. The body will be placed in the church at noon for viewing. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery, Glade Spring. A visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home, Roanoke.
