Whatever happened to honesty and good character? Shouldn't we expect better from our highest elected official and his wife?
Is there anything that the Clintons won't do or say to get re-elected? Recently the president and commander in chief, who never wore a uniform, attempted to use the Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act of 1940 to postpone the harassment suit by Paula Jones. Then Hillary brought up the subject of conceiving or adopting another child in an election year. Don't these people have any scruples at all? Do they take us all to be a bunch of dummies?
We are fully aware that character was not an issue for the news media and 43 percent of the electorate in 1992. Look what we got!
Character should be one of the top issues in the 1996 presidential election. We should vote the characters out of the White House and put character back in.
We can put character back in the White House by electing Bob Dole president and commander in chief and making Elizabeth Dole first lady - a lady with real class.
Dole is an authentic, patriotic war hero. He would not speak with a forked tongue. Mrs. Dole would, definitely, dignify the White House as a first lady that we could all be proud of.
