WINFRED J. MUNDEN SR.

Winfred Joseph ``Wink'' Munden Sr., 87, of the 500 block of Hemlock Street, died Tuesday, June 4, 1996, at Winslow Memorial Home.

He was a native of Camden County, a retired cabinet maker, a 50 year member of Pasquotank Tribe No. 8, Improved Order of Red Men, a member of Providence Baptist Church in Shawboro, N.C., and a member of the Men's Bible Class of First United Methodist Church, Elizabeth City.

He was the son of the late Simon Edward and Catherine ``Kate'' Meiggs Munden and the widower of Addie Morgan Munden.

Survivors include a daughter, Rita (Mrs. Randolph E.) Munden Ferebee of Virginia Beach; a son, Winfred J. ``Wink'' Munden Jr. of Elizabeth City; two grandchildren, Stephen Kight Forbes of Carolina Beach, N.C. and Joseph Glenn Forbes of Atlanta. He was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Ann Munden Forbes.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Twiford's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charles Wellons officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and at the residence at other times. The family requests that memorial donations be made to The College of Albemarle Foundation, P.O. Box 2327, Elizabeth City, N.C. 27906-2327 or The Pasquotank Tribe No. 8 Improved Order of Red Men, P.O. Box 1254, Elizabeth City, N.C. 27906-1254.
