The torch for the Virginia Special Olympics reached Virginia Beach
on Wednesday. Virginia Beach police officers carried the torch from
the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel along Shore Drive
and Atlantic Avenue to 17th Street. The Virginia Beach officers will
pass the torch this morning to counterparts from Norfolk. The torch
will make its way through Hampton Roads, carried by police officers.
Eventually, it will come to rest in Richmond, where the games will
be held Saturday.
