MAZIE C. BAUGHAM

Mazie Cutchins Baugham, 79, a resident of the 20000 block of Three Bee's Road, died Thursday, June 6, 1996, at East Pavilion, Franklin.

She was a lifelong resident of Southampton County and daughter of the late Linwood C. and Nonie Fowler Cutchins. She was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery and was a member of the Homemaker's Bible class of the church. Her husband was the late George A. Baugham.

She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Baugham Arrington (and her husband, the late William C. Arrington), of Windsor and Linda Baugham Griffin and her husband, Samuel G. Griffin of Newsoms; stepmother, Ruth C. Edwards of Alaska; 10 sisters, Jessie C. Pope of Emporia, Catherine C. Stephenson of Ivor, Alice C. Hill of Norfolk, Marion D. Swindell of Fairfield, N.C., Kate C. Rush of Florida, Elizabeth C. Sadler of Palmyra, Va., Betty C. Throckmorton of Richmond, Bertha C. Baugus of Alaska, Millie C. Butner of Greensboro, N.C. and Rebecca C. Mercer of Florida; three brothers, Frank Porter of Texas, Lee Etheridge of Chesapeake and James Long of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Diane L. Arrington, Anita A. Craig, William C. Arrington Jr., Rhonda G. Everett and S. Gerald Griffin; and five great-grandchildren. She was grandmother of the late Bruce E. Arrington.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Newsoms Baptist Church by the Rev. Kenneth Williams. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms. The family will be at the residence, 29503 Three Bee's Road. Memorial donations may be made to Newsoms Baptist Church. Purviance Funeral Home, Inc., is handling arrangements.
