EDWARD J. PARKER

On Thursday June 6, 1996, the Rev. Edward J. Parker, 67, of 4028 Pughsville Road, quietly and peacefully departed this life for a better one with our heavenly Father.

Edward was educated in the Portsmouth Public School System. He graduated from I.C. Norcom High School in 1946. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps where he honorably served as a master gunnery sergeant and of the U.S. Navy, where he honorably served as a warrant officer. For a number of years he worked as a radio personality at WNOR. He worked as a photographer for 48 years and was the owner of Neptune Fotos, Norfolk. He served as a minister having been ordained by the National Ministers Association of Raleigh, N.C.

He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Carrie. Survivors include his uncle, Larry Drumgold of Elizabeth City, N.C.; cousins, William Perry Sr. of Ontario, Calif., Walter Perry III, Horace Perry, Edward Perry, Essie Perry, Tanya Perry and Rachel Perry, all of Portsmouth, Michael Delpricio and Tini Delpricio of Suffolk; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A private service will be officiated by the Rev. Dr. Stephan Adams. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge.
