LUCILLE D. MIDGETT

Lucille May Daniels Midgett, 85, died Saturday, June 8, 1996, in a local nursing center.

Mrs. Midgett was a homemaker and a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, where she was a former treasurer and a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Roanoke Island Chapter (NU)79. She was the daughter of the late Alexander Jake and Leanetta Cudworth Daniels and the wife of Mr. Chesley C. Midgett Sr. of Wanchese.

Besides her husband, surviving are two sons, Jake D. Midgett and his wife, Ann of Portsmouth, and Chesley C. ``Buddy'' Midgett Jr. and his wife, Ruby of Wanchese. Mrs. Midgett was predeceased by a daughter, Jacqueline M. Rogers. There are five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Bethany United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bill Holliday. Burial will follow in the Cudworth Cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Twiford Funeral Home. Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo, is serving the Midgett family.
