Dara Martin Smith, 84, of the 2200 block of Barbara Drive, died June 8, 1996, in a local convalescent center.
She was a native of Conway, N.C., and the daughter of the late Essie Martin and James Franklin Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Smith Sr. Mrs. Smith was a member of St. John's Baptist Church, Virginia Beach.
She is survived by three sons, George L. Smith Jr., J. Frank Smith, both of Norfolk, and Ronald L. Smith of Virginia Beach; a brother, James W. Martin of Conway, N.C.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Cox Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. W. Hank Brooks. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home today from 2 to 3 p.m. to visit with friends. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Baptist Church's Building Fund, P.O.
