Elizabeth Dicks Beatty, 98, of Westminster Canterbury and formerly of Norfolk, went to be with the Lord June 7, 1996. She died in her home.
Mrs. Beatty, the widow of E. Frank Beatty, was a native of Henrico County, Va. She was a member of Bayside Baptist Church and a former member of Park Place Baptist Church for many years. She was a former member of Norfolk Women's Club and the Scherzo Music Club. She was an alumnas of Westhampton College in Richmond.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances ``Franky'' Rhees and her husband, Bee, of Norfolk, Elizabeth ``Betty'' Hitt and her husband, Ralph, of Virginia Beach; a son, John F. Beatty and his wife, Pearl, of Norfolk; eight grandchildren, Lynn V. Beatty, Anne E. Beatty, R. Thomas Hitt, Robert B. Hitt, Ellen M. McLaughlin, William F. Rhees, Richard S. Rhees, Sally B. Thorbjornsson; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday by Dr. Paul B. Watlington Jr. in Riverview Cemetery, Richmond. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, today from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bayside Baptist Church, Park Place Baptist Church, or to Westminster Canterbury Memorial Fund. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Canterbury Wednesday June 11, 1996, at 4 p.m.
