Mary Moreland Caines, 61, passed away June 8, 1996, in DePaul Hospital. She lived in the 2900 block of East Ocean View Ave. Mrs. Caines was the daughter of the late Eleanor Creasy and Alexandre Massey. She was a native of Altavista, Va.
She is survived by her four daughters, Bobbi Bascomb of Norfolk, Mary Angelson of Virginia Beach, Karen Montoya of Middletown, R.I., and Dreama Jones of Virginia Beach; five sons, Joey Miller of Forest, Miss., Petey Moreland of Summerville, S.C., Johnny Moreland of Newport News, Kevin Moreland and Shannon Moreland of Norfolk; one sister, Jeanne Boothe of Norfolk and one brother, Richard Massey of Norfolk; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 11 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Charles Snead presiding at East Ocean View Baptist Church, 9th Bay Street, Norfolk. The family will be at 9567 17th Bay Street.
